IMO, wondering if God has heard your prayer is the same as wondering if Santa read your wish list. But then I'm a cynical bastard.

Tetra,
Last time I was in that neck of the woods I had a lot of similar experiences. My G-friend and I took the ferry from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria. We stayed there for a night then took another ferry to a tiny island between Vancouver and Victoria called Mayne. We rented a really cool tree-house that had all the ammenities. It was just like a studio apartment but was in a huge tree! Then we went to Vancouver for a couple of days and bought some weed on the street. We went into one of those "coffee shops" and smoked some just to say that we had done it. When we were leaving Canada, we didn't want to risk getting caught by the customs officers, so I gave a couple of joints that we had left over as well as almost a full 1/2 ga. of Canadian Club (open container) to a group of homeless guys who were sitting on the waterfront under a tree. I was king of the bums!!! I thought they were going to hoist me up onto their shoulders and carry me through the streets! All in all it was a great trip. If you are ever in SW Washington look me up, I'll give you some of the best dope the world has to offer!

My dog Ronin is my best pal in all the world. He is a husky/rottweiler mix and very handsome indeed. He is shaped like a husky (pointy ears, curly tail) but colored black and tan like a rotty. He has the best disposition of any dog I've ever had. I got him when he was 8 weeks old.I took him to puppy preschool and learned that he was a very intelligent little guy. I potty-trained him in less than a week! After that, the only time he has ever gone in the house was when he was not feeling too well and I wasn't home to let him out. He pulled a newspaper off of the paper bin by the fireplace and pooped on that! Good dog! SInce then I have installed a doggy door into the back yard. He doesn't bark, doesn't try to make escape attempts, loves to go fishing with me, is not destructive, (but likes to chew up chapstick), and very loyal and loving. I can't say that much about most of the people I know. I got a huge tattoo on my shoulder and bicep that is a monument to him. He's the best. Oh yeah, he likes to sing along when I play guitar. He knows lots of cool tricks too.
.....I guess I like the cat too....

What's the most exotic food you've ever eaten?

Antelope- Tough, very gamey, and tasted strongly of sagebrush.
Black bear- Also very tough, not so gamey, reminded me of pork.
Moose- This was a young animal and the meat was very tender and delicious.
Aligator-Freshwater tuna.
Pheasant-Pleasant.
Elk- Mild flavored and very tasty.
Haggis- I would rather eat a bucket of cold feces than try this vile stuff again.
Octopus and squid-Rubbery but very tasty.
Wild boar-Pork, duh.
Sea urchin-Vile in every way.
Balluit (sp?)- A nasty Phillipine dish that basically consists of a duck egg with an unhatched baby duck inside that is boiled, peeled, and eaten whole, beak, feet, feathers, and all. Ugh.
My G-friend's dad used to drink chicken blood. WTF?
I like to cook with fish sauce but it is wretched the way it is made. Basically they put a whole fish in a sock, hang it in the sun, what drips out the bottom is collected and bottled. Wow.

Now I feel kinda foolish about the post about the shotgun in the tent. The safety was on and the chamber was empty. The sounds we were hearing were really very unsettling and sounded pretty close to where our camp was. Normally I keep the guns locked up, unloaded, with cablelocks through the actions. I just don't want to give the idea that I'm a triggerhappy idiot.

It makes me wonder. If so many people around the world are supposedly witnessing all these things with such similarities over such large periods of time, espescially the similarities between the various "lake monsters", you gotta wonder what ARE they really seeing. If every lake monster around the world supposedly looks like a plesiosaur, is it a plesiosaur? Or are these folks just full of crap? I dunno, I think it's fun to support the theory of these monsters. The people who are illegedly seeing this stuff come from all kinds of different walks of life. I'd love to see something like this. I live in the Pacific Northwest where the greatest amount of Bigfoot sightings have taken place. I am an avid outdoorsman and do a lot of camping. I have never actually SEEN anything but have heard some strange howls and other noises that don't really fit in with the sounds made by the local fauna. One night, really late a friend and I were camping. We heard what sounded kind of like a wolf howling, but much deeper and louder. It went on for quite a while and sounded like it was made by just one animal. It was really weird and made us really uneasy. I kept the 12 guage in the tent loaded with 00 buck for the rest of the mostly sleepless night.
